Starlight was founded by Vanessa, a UK university educator with hundreds of hours’ experience coaching students across a wide range of courses and subjects. Vanessa has helped many students transform their writing, achieve First Class degrees, and improve beyond their expectations.

Vanessa earned her Master’s from Goldsmiths, University of London, with Distinction and is an Associate Fellow of Advance HE. Her teaching is centred on helping students recognise their academic potential and develop the skills, confidence and critical thinking needed to perform at their best.

She brings a genuine love of learning, a passion for helping students overcome the challenges of academic writing, and an organised, structured approach that makes even the most daunting assignments feel manageable. Vanessa’s favourite part of the job is discovering the fascinating range of topics and ideas her students choose to explore.
